A watchdragon is the dragon left in charge of making sure a Weyr is safe at all times of the day although their use is limited except at night or during major events such as Gathers.Being a watchdragon is a very boring job for most of the time as not many things will cause danger to a Weyr, many watchdragons and their riders fall asleep on duty and high-ranking dragons (notably Mnemeth) sometimes wake them up quite startingly. Being watchdragon is sometimes given as a punishment to riders as it is not an appealing job.
